Western frontier gunman, reputed to have gunned-down over 30 men, fatally shot and killed by gunslinger John Selman. Exceptionally Rare two-page, recto and verso, DS "J.W. Hardin", 8" x 12", circa 1872, cattle brand registry showing several dozen brands, age of steers branded, owner's signature adjacent each entry. Hardin's signature is as fine an example as we've seen, several dozen additional signatures worthy of further research include: 10 times by M.Clements, Hardin relative and Pecos City deputy and two times by famed cattleman Joseph McCoy. Outstanding association piece from bloodiest period of Hardin's career. This lot is accompanied by a letter from PSA/DNA.
