In 1962, a young Keith Richards teamed up with childhood friend Mick Jagger to form the Rolling Stones, thus launching "the world's greatest rock and roll band." Richards lends his song-writing abilities and distinctive sound to the band, which is one of the most recorded and well-toured acts in history. In 1989, after an eight-year sabbatical, they set out on the widely anticipated Steel Wheels tour, which played to rave reviews. It was during that series of concerts that Richards donned this outfit. The shirt is made of green velvet and buttons up both the front and back. The pants are Keith's typical black leather and have the "Fieldsheer" manufacturer's tag in the waist. They have been trimmed along the bottom of each leg. The set comes with documentation from two well-known music memorabilia dealers.
