This piece brings you back to the days of five cent egg creams and root beers. Created by artist Harry Claubach (who wrote his name in marker on the back) in 1984, this wooden folk art creation displays a variety of old-time characters. It is entitled "New York Yankees The House That Ruth Built." To the left is a wooden cut-out depicting the likeness of Abbott and Costello, most likely in the middle of their "Who's On First" routine. In the section to the right is Charlie Chaplin in his famous stance. Then we see an umpire, and four Yankees with a large orange and black Yankee "bat in hat" logo. All the way to the right is a wooden character who appears to be the Groucho Marx smoking a cigar. Along the whole piece are small signs for drinks, toys, and newspapers for what they used to cost in the "good old days." The overall size is 48" x 16", and it is ready to display.
