Namath rallied his team and all AFL supporters at a Super Bowl week awards dinner by declaring to a surprised audience, "The Jets will win on Sunday, I guarantee you." Probably still the greatest guarantee in sports, as the Jets went on to win Super Bowl III. On the left front tail of this green mesh jersey is the "Champion" manufacturer's label with size "L." The player number "12" appears on the front and back of the jersey, screened on in white. Also on the back on a green nameplate is the name "Namath" screened on in white. On each sleeve is the player number "12", which has been screened on in green. There is a white crotch piece attached to the bottom of the jersey.
