Tom Heinsohn's unique style of play and fantastic shooting contributed greatly to the Boston Celtics' dynasty. Chosen as NBA Rookie of the Year in 1957, he helped the Celtics win eight NBA titles during his nine years of play. Heinsohn was also a six-time All-Star. After his retirement in 1965, he came back to coach the Celtics to two more championships and was elected to the Basketball Hall of Fame in 1986. Offered here is Heinsohn's Rookie Of The Year Award cup. The silver-plated award stands 9" tall at its highest point, and the cup's diameter is five inches. The award is engraved with the inscription, "Hy Turkin Memorial Award - Pro Rookie Of The Year 1956 - 57, Tom Heinsohn, Boston Celtics, Presented By Metropolitan Basketball Writers Ass'n." The award is in EX condition, with one broken handle.
