Most boxing fans would agree that the greatest Heavyweight Championship bout of all-time occurred on October 1, 1975 in Manila, Phillipines. This was the third time that Ali and Frazier met in the ring to decide who would leave with the Championship belt, Frazier had taken the first and Ali the second. With Ali receiving a six million dollar purse, he knew the world was watching. When the fight began Ali seemed to come out with the pressure on Frazier. Towards the middle of the fight, Frazier began to kick it up a notch as Ali attempted his rope-a-dope, which didn't give him the same success it had against Foreman. By the time the fight reached the 10th round both boxers were clearly losing their thunder. Then, to the disbelief of many, Ali somehow became recharged and began to unload punch after punch on Frazier. In round 13, Ali knocked Frazier's mouthpiece into the crowd, and most believed his chance at a comeback left the ring with it. In the following round Ali damaged Frazier's left eye so badly that Joe could not see Ali's right hand coming at him. In between the 14th and final round, Frazier's trainer threw in the towel. Just seconds after the fight was called, Ali fainted in his corner, and later claimed he was just about ready to give up if Frazier didn't. With less than five of these ever seen in the hobby, this huge un-used 8-3/4" x 4-1/2" full ticket is quite possibly the most sought after ticket in boxing. It is a large red ringside pass with "A Thrilla In Manila" in silver on the top. The ticket is in excellent to near mint condition and has a small amount of tape on the back side.
