The Montreal Royals were a part of the International League from 1928 through 1960. Jackie Robinson played on the team during the 1946 season, just before Branch Rickey decided to bring him to Brooklyn. This flannel jersey was worn by the team's bat boy in the 1940s. Across the front of the jersey, the team name "Royals" is sewn on in blue felt. The bat boy's number "16" is sewn onto the back in blue felt. This jersey appears to be well-worn, with some dirt stains and fraying on the felt letters.
