Founded in St. Louis in 1887 by George and Alfred Rawlings, the Rawlings Sporting Goods Company is one of only two manufacturers to produce baseball gloves in the United States today. In 1976, Rawlings became the exclusive supplier of baseballs to MLB, and in 1985 they were awarded the "Official Uniform Supplier" contract for the Major Leagues. This is a vintage oversized 48" x 134" gold nylon banner with black trim, "Rawlings St. Louis" in sewn on black letters and "Tom Elliott" embroidered in black thread in the lower right corner. The banner shows some wear from hanging and folding and is believed to have been used in tournaments or conventions of some sort.
