Jackie Robinson played his entire professional career with the Brooklyn Dodgers ball club. Breaking the baseball color barrier as he did, he paved the way for all minorities in professional sports. Offered here are two original black and white Associated Press wire photos of Jackie. The first one shows him in his Kansas City Monarchs Negro League uniform, from October 23, 1945. This picture has the caption, "Negro Shortstop Signs To Montreal," from an article about his recent signing to the Dodgers' Canadian farm club. The second picture is of both Jackie and his wife Rachel from February 26, 1946. This picture has the caption, "Negro Ball Player Weds," from a blurb which tells of his February 10th wedding. The photos are in excellent to near mint condition, with only one small crease on the lower right corner of the wedding picture.
