The 1969 "Miracle" Mets are one of the most storied teams in baseball history, along with the 1955 Brooklyn Dodgers. Having his greatest year with this phenomenal team, outfielder Cleon Jones batted a career high .340 that year, helping to lead "The Amazin's" to a World Championship. This is a 3" diameter copper colored medallion mounted on a swivel base, commemorating the immortal championship, that was presented to Cleon Jones during Spring Training in 1970. One side has the Mets logo and the words "World's Champions Of Baseball 1969" in embossed letters around the rim. The reverse side has an embossed baseball player swinging a bat, with the words "St. Petersburg, Florida" embossed beneath him and the words "Spring Home Of Champions, Salutes The Mets March 5, 1970" embossed around the rim. Comes with a signed affidavit from Cleon Jones, attesting to his ownership of this great item.
