Frank Graham is regarded as one of the top sports writers of the first half of the 20th century and in 1971 was honored by the Baseball Hall of Fame with it's J.G. Taylor Spink award for sports writing. Following his career on the sports beat he authored a book on the Brooklyn Dodgers which became part of the Putnam series. It was around that time that the Dodgers presented him with this ring, an honor normally reserved for players. On the inside of the band is the "Diegs & Clust 14K" stamping. On either shank is the team name "Dodgers" inlaid in blue enamel. Around the top edges are the words "Brooklyn Baseball Club" surrounding a synthetic blue stone with a 1/4 karat diamond inset. The ring is size 8-1/2 and is in near mint condition. It originates from an auction of Graham's personal effects and will be accompanied by a copy of the catalog page on which it is listed.
