Slugger Mark McGwire is most famous for his impressive number of single season and career home runs. Before all of his Major League accomplishments, he played on the 1984 USA Olympic team, led by the legendary USC Head Coach Rod Dedeaux. McGwire played alongside his then unknown teammates Will Clark, Barry Larkin, and BJ Surhoff, who together won the silver medal, losing the final game to Japan. This NM-MT official Rawlings 1984 XXIII Olympiad baseball is held together by both blue and red stitching. The ball has the Olympic "5- Ring" logo, as well as the L.A. Olympic Committee logo. McGwire has signed the ball in blue ink, and has added his Olympic number "41." The signature rates an 8, and comes with a letter from PSA/DNA.
