"The Golden Greek" was a lifelong athlete who excelled in baseball and football through high school and college. While playing for Boston University he was named an All-American quarterback but decided that baseball was his passion and signed with the Boston Red Sox for a reported $35,000 (a hefty sum at the time). He put on a brilliant show during his 1954 rookie season and died tragically of Leukemia only 25 games into 1955. We offer what is likely the finest Agganis single signed baseball in the hobby. The signature is penned across the sweet spot in ink rating a near 10 (and we hate to say that anything is perfect). The ball itself is an OAL Harridge beauty that shows a light and even tone with dark and bold League stampings. A thin coat of shellack was applied long ago to aid preservation. The autograph comes with a letter from PSA/DNA.
