The feared left handed slugger Eddie Mathews was blessed with a seemingly natural ability to play the game of baseball. Signed right out of high school, he spent less than three years in the minor league farm system before joining the then Milwaukee Braves as their full time third baseman, a position he held for 15 years. In that time he clubbed 512 homeruns, played on 9 All-Star teams, and joined his team in winning the 1957 World Championship. This magnificent example of a Mathew's gamer was used by the Hall of Famer during his 1964 season. It shows evidence of outstanding use with deeply embedded ball, stitch, and cleat marks visible on the barrel. There is a handle crack that has been so expertly repaired that it is now undetectable. Mathews has signed the barrel is blue Sharpie rating a 10. Manufacturer: Hillerich & Bradsby, Model Number: S2, Labeling Period: 1964, Length: 35 inches, Weight: 33 ounces, Wood: Ash, Finish: Standard. The bat and autograph each come with a letter from PSA/DNA.
