Tim McCarver is one of the best known sports broadcasters of our time, but before he made his way to the microphone he enjoyed a very successful 21 year career as a baseball player. These pants were worn by him during the 1968 season while playing with the St Louis Cardinals. In the waist is the "Rawlings" manufacturer's label with the size "36." Adjacent to this are the wash and "Set 1 1968" flag tags. Also in the waist is a white felt patch reading "McCarver 68 37/36 25 ins" in red chain stitch. This denotes player name, year, size, and inseam, respectively. McCarver has signed below the tagging in black marker rating an 8. The pants show fine wear with several team repairs. Included is a bat used by Tim during the later part of his career while with the Philadelphia Phillies. It shows outstanding game-use with ball, hit, transfer, and rack marks visible on all sides of the barrel. The player number "11" has been written on the knob in vintage black marker and a light coat of pine tar has been applied to the cracked and repaired handle. Manufacturer: Hillerich & Bradsby, Model Number: C271, Labeling Period: 1977-79, Length: 34-3/4 inches, Weight: 32 ounces, Wood: Ash, Finish: Flame Burned/Treated. The bat and autograph each come with a letter from PSA/DNA.
