HOFer Ernie Banks won consecutive MVP awards at shortstop for the Cubs and is one of the greatest players of all-time. Known for his affable nature and sunny disposition, Banks was a gentleman on and off the field. Banks began using a lighter bat in 1955 and for the next five years hit more home runs than Mantle, Mays and Aaron. The bat shows use with cleat marks visible on the barrel. The numbers "31" and "14" appear on the knob. The model number "S2" has been written above the "Powerized" mark by the Cubs Equipment manager (known as "Yosh" marks). The barrel has been signed in black marker rating a 9. Manufacturer: Hillerich & Bradsby, Model Number: S2, Labeling Period: 1965-68, Length: 35 inches, Weight: 31 ounces, Wood: Ash, Finish: Standard. The bat and autograph each come with a letter from PSA/DNA.
