Dick Groat was a slick handed shortstop who played on two World Championship teams including the 1964 St. Louis Cardinals. The five time All-Star wore this helmet during his time with the Cards, which stretched from 1963-65. On the front is the "S T L" team logo and the player number "24." The size "7 1/8" is written on the inside sweatband, which is fully intact, in vintage ink. The helmet is hammered with use and shows evidence of having been refurbished by the team during the era of its use, as equipment was quite costly at that time.
