Considered by many to be the best there ever was, Willie Mays could quite simply do it all. For 22 seasons he hit for power and average, ran the bases quickly and intelligently, and played centerfield like no other. He joined the Mets as his Hall of Fame career was winding down and played with the team in one last World Series before retiring. This warm-up jacket was donned by the Sey Hey Kid during the 1973 Championship games and then presented to a New York Sports writer following Game 7. In the collar are the size "44" and "Dry Clean Only" flag tags. On the left front breast is the Mets "NY" logo and on the right is the player number "24" in orange tackle twill. On the left sleeve is the "Mets" skyline logo patch. Mays has signed the jacket below his number and added a "1973" inscription. The silver paint signature rates a near 10 and comes with a letter from PSA/DNA. The jacket comes with an additional letter which traces its chain of ownership.
