The 1998 season was certainly one to remember. It was the year that Sammy Sosa and Mark McGwire dueled each other in the race for 61 home runs that wound up with "Big Mac" clobbering 70 and "Slammin' Sammy" 66. In the neck of the jersey is a white patch reading "21-48-98" denoting the player number, size and year respectively. On the left front tail is the "Russell Athletic" label with the size "48." Across the front of the jersey is the name "Chicago" and on the back is the name "Sosa." The letters are made of red on white tackle twill. On the left sleeve is the "Hey Hey" patch commemorating the death of Jack Brickhouse. Below this is the Cubs patch. On the right sleeve is a "Face" patch commemorating the death of Harry Caray. The jersey shows nice game use and appears to have no alterations of any kind.
