Hoyt Wilhelm was the embodiment of consistency and durability -- he played in more games than any other pitcher in major league history, was the first relief pitcher elected to the HOF and the first with fewer than 150 wins. Across the front in script-style lettering is the name "Chicago White Sox" in navy blue tackle twill with white chain stitch. The number "31" is on the front and rear of the jersey in navy blue on white tackle twill. The name "Wilhelm" on the back has been restored and is done in navy blue tackle twill. On the left front tail is the "Wilson" manufacturer's tag with "42", "1968" and "Set 1" denoting size, year and set, respectively. Inside the collar the name tag has been removed. Below the removed tag is an autograph rating a 7. On the left sleeve is the "Illinois Sesquicentennial" patch. The jersey shows game use and, except for the restored name and missing tag, appears to have no alterations of any kind. The autograph comes with a letter from PSA/DNA.
