Mickey Mantle played in the Seventh Annual Ed Beshara Charity Invitational Golf Tournament at Cedar Ridge CC in Tulsa, OK., on July 26, 1974. The par-3 second hole featured a new car to anyone who recorded a hole-in-one. Mantle stood on the tee, struck the ball and watched as his 7-iron travelled 170 yards and came to rest in the cup. Without missing a beat, Mantle bent down, picked up his tee, and remarked, "Nobody ever gave me a car for hitting a home run." Mantle went on to record the low score in the tournament, shooting a two-over-par 73. Offered here is the autographed scorecard from that tournament which has a "1" written on the second hole and an autographed golf ball. The Cedar Ridge CC scorecard is dated "7-26-74" and has been signed by Mickey Mantle in the area to attest the score. The signature is beautifully done in black ink and rates an absolute 10. The ball is a brand new Top-Flite golf ball which has been signed in blue marker and rates an 8. The scorecard comes with fabulous documentation of the event and hole-in-one, including a Golf World Magazine dated August 16, 1974, a Golf Galaxy Magazine from July 1977, an 8" x 10" photo showing Mickey Mantle standing in front of the car he won with a large white sign reading, "This Car Won by Mickey Mantle Hole #2 170 yds" and two other newspaper clippings. The lot comes with a letter from PSA/DNA.
