When Ron Guidry left the Yankees, he passed the torch to a young ace named Righetti who went on to become the Yankees all-time leader in saves at the time. He was called up in '81 and went on to win AL Rookie of the Year. On the left front tail is the "Wilson" manufacturer's tag with jersey size "42." Inside the neck is a grey tackle twill patch reading "Righetti 81 2" denoting player name, year and set respectively. On the back is the number "19" in navy blue on white tackle twill. Across the front is the team name "Yankees" in script-style navy blue on white tackle twill. Originally the city name "New York" was attached to the front of the jersey but was removed when the jersey was sent to the minor leagues. The jersey shows game use and appears to have no alterations other than the removed "New York" across the front of the jersey.
