The BAA was established in 1946 and later merged with the NBL to form the now NBA. With Guard "Jumpin' Joe" Fulks winning the newly formed Basketball Association of America's scoring title at 23.2 ppg, the Philadelphia Warriors made the playoffs by finishing in the Eastern Division's second spot with a 35-25 record. In the playoffs, the Warriors knocked off the St. Louis Bombers in a three-game series that went the distance. The Warriors then hit their stride, beating the New York Knickerbockers in two straight to make the first-ever BAA Finals. In the BAA Finals, the Warriors stayed hot and knocked off the Chicago Stags four games to one to claim the new league's first championship. Offered is a truly remarkable autographed basketball signed by eight members of the first BAA (NBA) championship team. Features: Joe Fulks (HOF), Eddie Gottlieb (coach), Ralph Kaplowitz, Howie Dallmar, George Senesky, Angelo Musi, Jerry Fleishman, and Hank Beenders. The signatures grade a 7 and are signed on a gold painted panel with lettering in red reading "World Champions, 1946-47 Phila. Warriors." Pre-NBA items are extremely desirable and to the best of our knowledge this is the earliest known championship team-signed ball in the hobby. Includes an original vintage box. A one-of-a-kind item that would highlight any basketball collection! The autographs come with a letter from PSA/DNA.
