From 1963 to 1969, the San Diego Chargers played professional football as part of the AFL before joining the NFL in 1970. This jacket is from the mid 1960s, which is the same era in which the Chargers won the 1963 AFL Championship. In the neck of the jacket is the "King O'Shea" manufacturer's label. On the sleeve is the player number "12" and across the back is the team name "Chargers." All of the lettering is done in white tackle twill with the exception of the "H," which is yellow. The inside of the jacket is lined in purple satin and the sleeves and collar are done in blue wool with yellow and white stripes. The jacket shows nice use with some minor rips and tears.
