John Adams served as our nation's first Vice President (1789-1796) and second President of the United States (1797-1800). This 7.5" x 5" receipt was signed by Adams during his Vice Presidency and has been paired with a portrait of him. These two items have been exquisitely set in glass and matted and framed to a final size of 15" x 28" in a manner that allows both sides of the receipt, which have been written on, to remain viewable. Included on the receipt and written in dark ink is "Received the contents March 19th, 1794" and it has been signed "John Adams." Adams' signature rates a strong 9, remarkable given the age of this document, and it comes with a letter of authenticity from PSA/DNA.
