The New York Mets, led by Hernandez, Carter, and Strawberry, defeated the Red Sox in the 1986 World Series after it came right down to the wire and was won by a Darryl Strawberry home run and an RBI single by reliever Jesse Orosco. This 30" x 34" framed and matted piece commemorates that spectacular Fall Classic. The matte has been covered in pictures that feature game action pictures of the players--mostly Mets--and reads "1986 The World Series" on top. Inside the matte is a 1986 World Series program that is in excellent condition and 2 ticket stubs, from games 1 and 2, that are also in excellent condition. Above the stubs are pins commemorating each team and their victories, the Mets as the World Champs and the Sox as the American League Champs. All of these items surround original illustrations of some of the players and managers involved in the games, including managers Johnson and McNamara and players Gooden, Hernandez, Carter, Clemens, Henderson, and Gedman. The piece is in excellent condition overall.
