This circa 1930s 12" x 17" cardboard advertising sign for Altes Beer features Harry Heilmann, one of the best right-handed hitters in baseball history. Heilmann planned a promotional visit to the Elks' Club from 6:45pm-7:00pm on July 7th. The top of the sign reads, "COME ON GANG, TURN OUT" in white on green type. Along the bottom reads "Be Sure to Meet HARRY on July 7" in red and the Altes slogan: "Always say ALTES, the best beer ALL-ways." There are color pictures of Altes Imperial Beer and Altes Lager on either side. The sign is in VG-EX condition with slight wear around the edges and a small pencil notation on the back.
