Having lost to the Athletics in the 1930 World Series, St. Louis was looking for revenge in 1931. The 1931 Philadelphia Athletics, under the guidance of legendary manager Connie Mack, took their third straight American League pennant by winning 107 games. Al Simmons won his second consecutive AL batting title with a .390 average, and pitcher Lefty Grove went 31-4 for the A's. However, both were outdone in the end by Cardinals' centerfielder Pepper Martin, who batted .500 and stole five bases in the World Series, which the Cards won with a 4-2 victory in Game 7. This gorgeous silver ring has a red stone in the middle with a round diamond on top. Engraved around the diamond is "St. Louis Cardinals, World Champions 1931." This ring is a ladies' model measuring 6-3/4 to 7. Grades EX overall. A stunning example made for one of the coaches' wives.
