Willie Mays began his Major League baseball career in 1951 with the New York Giants and ended it some 22 years later with the New York Mets. During that span, he put together what has been called the greatest all-around numbers in the history of the game. The offered baseball cap was worn by the Say Hey Kid in his last season, 1973. On the front is the New York Mets interlocking "NY" logo in raised orange stitch. On the inside sweat band is the "New Era" manufacturer's tag and the size "6 7/8" has been written into the cap twice, once on the brim and once on the inside. Mays' number "24" appears on the underside of the brim and he has signed next to this in black marker rating an 8. The cap shows light use and is accompanied by a letter attesting to its origin. The autograph comes with a letter from PSA/DNA.
