The intimidating Lee Smith recorded at least 29 saves each year from 1983 to 1988 using a menacing glare and a 95-mph fastball. When he retired, he stood alone as the all-time saves leader with 478 and also ranked first in games finished (802) and all-time appearances (1022). On the inside left front tail of this home knit jersey is the "Rawlings" label with the size "52." Adjacent is the flag tag reading "Set 2 1991" and below this is the "2 Inch Extra Length" label. Across the front of the jersey is the team name "Cardinals" in script-style letters made of red on blue embroidered stitch. Going through the letter "C" is a gold embroidered bat with a red embroidered Cardinal perched on each end. On the back of the shirt is a white nameplate with the name "L. Smith." The player number "47" appears on both the front and back of the shirt. The letters and numbers are made of red on blue tackle twill. There is an autograph on the right front of the jersey which rates a strong 8. The autograph comes with a letter from PSA/DNA. The jersey shows game use and appears to have no alterations of any kind.
