Because of his seemingly boundless enthusiasm, Pete Rose was nicknamed "Charlie Hustle" by Whitey Ford. He once said that he would "walk through hell in a gasoline suit to keep playing baseball." Rose is the career leader in hits (4,256), singles (3,215), at-bats (14,053) and games played (3,562). In the neck of the jersey is a blue patch with the name "Rose" in black chain stitch. On the right front tail is the "Wilson" label with the size "44." Below this is a blue patch reading "80 2" in blue chain stitch. The numbers denote the year and set number, respectively. On the left breast is the Phillies logo emblem and on the back is a blue nameplate with the name "Rose." The player number "14" appears on both the right breast and on the back of the shirt. The emblem, name and numbers are made of maroon on white tackle twill. There is an autograph on the left front of the shirt which rates an eight. The autograph comes with a letter from PSA/DNA. The jersey shows game use and appears to have no alterations of any kind.
