Kirby Puckett joined his mentor Tony Oliva and Ty Cobb as the only AL players to top the league in hits for three straight seasons (1987-89.) From 1986 to 1988, Puckett may have been the best player in baseball, winning three Gold Gloves while averaging 221 hits, 37 doubles, and 13 steals with a .339 batting average. This home knit jersey was worn by the Twins' Sal Butera in 1981. It was then issued to Kirby Puckett and worn by him in minor league spring training in 1982. This was Kirby's first Twins jersey. In the neck of the jersey is the "Wilson" label. The initials "KP" are written on this label in black marker. Across the front of the jersey is the team name "Twins" in script-style letters. The player number "11" appears on both the left breast and on the back of the jersey. The letters and numbers are made of red on blue tackle twill. There is an autograph on the left front which rates an 8. The autograph comes with a letter from PSA/DNA. The jersey shows game use and appears to have no alterations of any kind. It also comes with a letter of authenticity from the Minnesota Twins.
