The easygoing Hall of Famer Bob Lemon learned to pitch in the major leagues and went on to become one of the most successful righthanders of the post-WWll period. From 1970-72, he managed the Kansas City Royals with a 1971 second place finish earning him Manager of the Year honors. In the neck of this road flannel jersey is a gray patch reading "71 Set 1," which is done in blue chain stitch. On the left front tail is the "Wilson" label with the size "44." Across the front of the jersey is the team name "Kansas City" and on the back is the manager number "21." Both the name and number are made of blue tackle twill. On the left sleeve is the Kansas City patch. The jersey shows wear and appears to have no alterations of any kind.
