The acrobatic Joe Gordon would be remembered for his defensive skills alone, but he was also a powerful and timely hitter who was the American League MVP in 1942. On the left front tail of this home flannel jersey is the "Wilson" label with the size "44." Below this is a white felt patch reading "69 Set 1," which is done in blue chain stitch. Across the front of the jersey is the name "Royals" in script-style letters and on the back is the manager's number "6." The letters and number are made of blue tackle twill. On the left sleeve is baseball's "100th Anniversary" patch. The jersey shows wear and appears to have no alterations of any kind.
