The 1977 World Series saw Reggie Jackson become even more of a legend after hitting three home runs in the deciding Game 6, and the same Series brought Coach Elston Howard the championship ring offered here. The beautiful, near mint to mint 14K ring is a size 9 1/2 ring with "Yankees World Champions" engraved around the top, which has the Yankees' "NY" logo in diamonds on a navy base. "1977" appears on top of the left shank, which features an engraved World Series trophy with "Pride" and "Tradition" engraved above it. When Howard's original ring was stolen, George Steinbrenner had this ring made to the exact specifications of the original and gave it to him. The original ring has never surfaced and is presumed to have been melted down. The right shank of the ring includes the name "Howard" with "Yankees 21st World Championship" engraved below it. "Balfour 14K" is engraved inside the ring. The near mint ring comes to us directly from Howard's wife Arlene and includes a letter of authenticity from her. A terrific way to remember Howard's career and the memorable 1977 Fall Classic.
