This 12" x 16" wood plaque features a metal plate with a portrait of Elston Howard as well as a plate that is engraved "Presented to Elston Howard / For his versatility and outstanding performance with the World Champion New York Yankee baseball team / He set an excellent example for youth of America by his enthusiastic willingness to do his best wherever he was assigned / Very few men in the history of baseball have starred in so many roles / By the Varsity Club, Inc. / Detroit - February 9, 1962." The plaque is in excellent condition and comes with a letter of authenticity from Howard's wife Arlene.
