The 1977 New York Yankees rolled through the American League, winning 100 regular season games en route to the World Series. The team took home its first Championship in 15 years, and for their efforts, those in the organization were awarded trophies identical to this one. The trophy stands one foot tall and is around seven inches in diameter. "1977 World Champions New York Yankees" is engraved around the base. Yankees and Dodgers press pin team emblems have been mounted on the base in front of a golden circle which has a crown at the top edge. On the underside of the mounting bolt of this crown is a "Balfour" manufacturer's identifying logo. Surrounding this are 26 flags representing each of the teams in both leagues at the time. The trophy remains in excellent condition overall, showing only the slightest hints of wear. An outstanding relic from the year of Reggie's performance that earned him the name "Mr. October."
