Ron Guidry was the backbone of the New York Yankees pitching staff for 14 seasons, during which time he won 170 games for the team. In 1978, he put on a Cy Young award-winning performance that helped the franchise to a World Championship. This jacket was worn by "Louisiana Lightning" during his tenure with the Yankees. It is constructed of heavy navy blue material with the interlocking "NY" logo on front in white on blue tackle twill. The collar, sleeves, and bottom are striped in blue and white and on the left sleeve is the "Yankees" top hat logo patch. In the collar is the "Aladen" manufacturer's label with an adjacent size "42" flag tag. Below this is a white label with the number "49" written on twice. The jacket shows game use.
