Gil McDougald started off his career very strong with the Yankees in 1951, winning the AL Rookie of the Year award. His great play continued throughout his career with McDougald making the All-Star team five times and hitting better then .300 twice. This cracked Gil McDougald game-used bat shows evidence of outstanding game use. It is consigned to us by the same person who consigned the Mantle gamer. The barrel has ball-hit and blue bat rack marks. The back of the barrel displays checking and the cracked handle has been taped and later removed. Manufacturer: Hillerich & Bradsby, Model #: R43, Labeling Period: 1959-60, Length: 35 in, Weight: 33.5 oz, Wood: Ash, Finish: Standard. The bat comes with a letter from PSA/DNA.
