Ralph Houk was on the Yankee roster for eight seasons as the backup catcher to Yogi Berra. This flannel is from his last season as a player and Houk would later go on to a successful run as the Yanks' manager. In the collar is a white felt patch reading "Houk R." in blue chain stitch. On the left front tail is the "Wilson" label and adjacent to this are the wash and size "42" tags. Underneath this is the year "1954" in blue chain stitch. Across the front of the jersey is the team name "New York" and on the back is the player number "32." Both the name and number are made of blue felt and have been restored. The jersey shows game-use and with the exception of the restored front and back, appears to have no other alterations.
