Yogi Berra was behind the plate throughout much of the New York Yankees' dominance of professional baseball. The 15-time All-Star played in 14 World Series with the club and is regarded as one of the finest catchers in baseball history. Pictured here is a hat worn by him circa 1952-55. The cap is embroidered with the Yankees' classic interlocked "NY" logo on the front. It is a fitted size "7 1/4", which is imprinted on the inside sweat band in black lettering, and bears the "KM Pro Cap" manufacturer's markings. Also on the inside sweatband is the "Tim McAuliffe" sewn-in label. It shows evidence of outstanding game use, particularly to the inside band, and has been signed by Berra on the underside of the brim. It is accompanied by a letter dated October 11, 1990 from a well-known collector within the hobby. The autograph comes with a letter from PSA/DNA.
