Dizzy Dean rose from poverty in smalltown Arkansas to become the ace of the St. Louis Cardinals pitching staff in the mid 1930's. Dizzy put it all together in 1934 when he won 30 games and captured the MVP Award for the Cards, who coasted to a 95-58 record and a World Series title. Tragically, Dizzy's career was never the same after he was hit in the toe by a line drive in the 1937 All-Star Game. The four-time all-star is enshrined in Cooperstown. The story of Dizzy's career made it to the big screen in 1952 when Harmon Jones directed "The Pride of St. Louis." Dan Dailey played Dizzy Dean and Richard Crenna played the role of Paul Dean. Offered here is a rare Pride of St. Louis six-sheet movie poster. The linen-backed poster grades EX and measures 81" x 81". One of the few known examples, this would certainly be a nice addition to any serious collection.
