Walter Payton was the Chicago Bears' Most Valuable Player in 1977,in fact, he was MVP of the entire NFL that year. But despite Payton's 192 rushing yards, pushing him over 1000 for the year, on November 13, 1977, the game ball that day went to Bears kicker Bob Thomas after he put the Bears on top for good in their 28-27 win over the Kansas City Chiefs. The ball has been painted in red, white, and black with a Bears logo and the notation "Game Ball Presented to Bob Thomas 1000 Yds.-Walter Payton Bears-28 Chiefs-27 November 13, 1977 Soldier Field." The overall condition is excellent, showing expected use.
