Few fans, coaches or players who saw Jim Brown play have any doubt in their minds that he was the best running back the NFL has ever seen or ever will for that matter. Before he suited up for the Cleveland Browns, Brown completed an athletic career of legendary proportions at Syracuse University that saw him dominate not only the sport of football, but lacrosse as well. Brown's 1956 season earned him the Sport Magazine Award for Top Performer in College Football and that very award is offered here. Measuring 10" x 15", the award features an inscribed plate at the center flanked by an eagle perched on a ledge on either side. This one-of-a-kind item grades EX with some scratches and slight wood separation at the left center. It originally emanated from his son.
