Selected by the Chargers in the third round of the 1973 NFL college draft, Dan Fouts became the team's starting quarterback before the end of his rookie season. During the next eight seasons, Fouts averaged 2,729 yards and 24 touchdown passes a year. He was named the AFC player of the year in 1979 and 1981.On the left front tail of the jersey is the "San Diego Chargers" exclusive label and below is the "Sand-Knit" label with the size, "46." On the back of the jersey is a white mesh nameplate with the name "Fouts" in blue letters. The player number "14" appears on the front, back and on each sleeve of the jersey in blue/gold numbers. The letters and numbers have been ironed-on. There is some dirt and sweat marks around the neck. The jersey shows game-use and appears to have no alterations of any kind.
