In 1970, Jim Plunkett became the only Heisman Trophy winner in Stanford University's history. After Rose Bowl heroics, Plunkett went on to the New England Patriots as a number one draft choice. where he compiled a brilliant freshman record as starting quarterback passing for 2,158 yards and winning Rookie of the Year honors. He quarterbacked the Oakland Raiders to two Super Bowl wins in 1980 and 1983. On the left front tail of the jersey is the "Wilson" label which includes the size "46." On the back of the jersey is a red mesh nameplate with the name "Plunkett." The player number "16" appears on the front, back and on each sleeve of the jersey. The letters and numbers are white and have been ironed-on. There is an autograph on the back number "6" which rates a nine. There is some slight fraying on the nameplate. It shows consistent and even wear throughout. The jersey shows game-use and appears to have no alterations of any kind. The autograph comes with a letter of authenticity from PSA/DNA.
