From the day the doors were opened on April 20, 1912 until the day they were closed for the final time on September 27, 1999, Tiger Stadium, originally known as Navin Field, was host to numerous memorable games and home to countless legendary ballplayers. No Tiger fan will ever forget the contributions all-stars like Ty Cobb, Al Kaline, Hal Newhouser and countless others made to the ball club. The lucky fans who sat in this Tigers Stadium single seat got to see first hand just what a great venue Tiger Stadium was for baseball for so many years. This restored seat has a faint number 12 on the backing and features a Tiger holding a bat at the plate on the left side. The figural tiger is not original to the seat but is a replica of the original that was expertly added to the seat by a dedicated collector. It is known as a "bookend figural" because the tiger, which is an exact replica of the original, was taken from a set of bookends that are rumored to have been sold in Tiger Stadium. The seat has been re-painted and grades EX-MT.
