Between 1960 and 1963, the Hartland Plastics Co. released statues fashioned in the likeness of the year's most popular baseball players. These statues were popular among children and have become some of the most sought after baseball memorabilia items from the 1960's. Included in this lot are 18 statues, highlighted by the rare Dick Groat and Rocky Colavito. Ted Williams, Babe Ruth, Hank Aaron, Stan Musial, Mickey Mantle, Roger Maris, Yogi Berra, Warren Spahn, Willie Mays, Don Drysdale, Duke Snider, Ernie Banks, Harmon Killebrew, Eddie Mathews, Luis Aparicio and Nellie Fox round out the remainder of the group, which is missing only the bat boy to be complete. The statutes are near-mint, which is exceptional for such a large offering, with the only exceptions being Williams (EX), Banks (EX-MT), and Mantle (EX-MT).
