A stocky, barrel-chested, bow-legged rookie, Honus Wagner broke into the big leagues hitting .338 with the 1897 Louisville Colonels. Over the next 21 seasons he hit .300 in 15 consecutive seasons, ending his career with a .327 lifetime average. Upon his retirement, Wagner was honored with induction in the first class in Baseball's Hall of Fame. Dated February 10, 1919, this personal check has been fully executed and signed in the hand of Honus Wagner. The ink signature has faded ever so slightly in the over 80 years since it was signed however, it is still a strong example rating no less than an 8. the bank cancellation has lightly touched upon his name however the effect is minimal and hardly detracts from the overall appearance. The check has four very light vertical creases but is in otherwise excellent plus condition. The autograph comes with a letter of authenticity from PSA/DNA.
