This item is the actual ten-page Uniform Player's Contract binding "The Rocket," Roger Clemens, and the Boston Red Sox for the 1987 season. Intrinsic to this particular contract is the stunning and rare inclusion of the Rocket's bonus and payment schedule, including incentives for his winning the Cy Young, MVP award, as well as playoff inclusion and All-Star selection.
The contract's addendum alone is five full pages that outline the bonuses. This historic document is boldly signed in two places by this future Hall-of-Famer as well as former Red Sox General Manager Lou Gorman. The Rocket is arguably one of the greatest five pitchers of all-time, and this vintage contract is of historic significance to the most discerning Clemens collector. Both the Clemens and Gorman signatures rate a strong 9, with the contract itself being in near mint condition with barely noticeable creasing in the binder area due to normal filing.
